DS: Hi Mark & Daniel, hope things are cool?
Sequentia: Yup, things are cool thanks smile.gif

DS: So what have you been up to in the last year, has 2009 been a good year for you- what were your highlights?
Sequentia: Production wise 2009 has been a calm year for us due to both of our studies. However, we've picked up the pace in the past few months resulting in a couple of new signings, all to be out in the next year. Our highlights of 2009 were our successes with "Infinite Horizon" and "The Game / Mistakes We've Made" as well as the booking for our first international DJ gig (playing mainstage at Luminosity at the Beach '09). Most certainly we will add the Enhanced X-Mas Event to this list!

DS: Have you any new material on the horizon on Enhanced or any other labels?
Sequentia: With Enhanced/DS-R we have two new singles we're very excited about, "Echoes Of Sound" with Intuition recording’s Maarten van Bergen and "Sacrifice" with the talented Static Blue. Early response on these has been great! We've also got a new track called "Mojito" coming up on Fraction - this one sounds very different from our usual work. There is also track we're doing for Infrasonic Records and last but not least a couple of remixes are coming out on Perceptive, Infrasonic and Alter Ego in 09/10.

DS: What have you got planned for 2010?
Sequentia: Mark: In 2010 Daniel will most certainly play at more gigs. Production wise we're eager to work on tracks together with a singer. We also hope to have more time for promotion, to setup a decent website and to finally launch a radio show.

DS: Who has been a major influence for you in your musical career?
Sequentia: Daniel: I always find it hard to name certain influences, but a friend in school (8th grade) who was planning to get himself a DJ setup kept bringing catalogues for DJ equipment to school, which made me decide to save money and to finally buy some myself. After starting to DJ I quickly got interested in producing as well so it all started there wink.gif. Well, maybe he was my major influence because, although I’ve always been fascinated by DJing before that I’m not sure if I had taken the step otherwise.
Mark: My major influences range from 80s Italo Disco music to trance god Vincent de Moor with his divine melodies.

DS: How would you describe your DJ style?
Sequentia: Daniel: My DJ style ranges from uplifting and techy edged material to rather proggy stuff. It's a mixture of all facets of the trance genre though with a stronger focus on the upbeat section of it.

DS: What is the most challenging aspect of being a DJ/Producer?
Sequentia: Daniel: To stand the constant pressure to keep delivering productions that meet everyone else's and most importantly our own quality standards is probably the most challenging aspect in music and any artistic field. But also to stand out from the big masses of talented DJs and producers out there.

DS: What advice have you got for anyone wanting to make it as a DJ or/and producer?
Sequentia: Mark: My best advice is to stay true to yourself. The music you produce is in the first place for yourself, and then for other people to enjoy. If your music doesn’t give you goosebumps, it probably won’t do this for others either.
Daniel: I think it’s important to stay focused on what you’re doing and to be PATIENT. You won’t become a skilled DJ/producer over night! Mark and me have both spent countless hours sitting in front of a computer for years... and we still do.

DS: What is your most funniest/embarrassing moment as a DJ moment?
Sequentia: Daniel: It was a pretty hot and sunny day when I played at Luminosity at the Beach and unfortunately the sunroof over the mainstage hasn’t been put up yet, which turned the equipment (the mixer in particular) into a hot plate. I guess it was to Marks amusement that I had to keep touching that “hot plate” tongue.gif ...was big fun nevertheless wink.gif.

DS: Are you looking forward to the Enhanced DS Invitation Xmas event?
Sequentia: Daniel: Definitely looking forward to it! Gonna be a wicked night!
Mark: It will also be a great moment to finally meet the people who put faith in our music by signing "Eclipse", and to meet the other artists of the ever growing Enhanced roster.
For Daniel it will also be another step in a promising DJ career.

DS: Have you anything special planned for your set or any exclusives you will be airing at the event?
Sequentia: Daniel: I will most probably play some of our forthcoming singles on Enhanced and Fraction and maybe some brand new stuff that we're putting the finishing touches to at the moment wink.gif.

DS: And finally tell us a random/interesting fact about yourself?
Sequentia: Mark: I design urban plans for a living.
Daniel: I'm going to be a grammar school teacher.

    Thanks guys!!

Wirklich klasse.
